The unexpected comeback of the four-door Mercedes G-Class Cabriolet is about to make waves!
Convertibles have become a rare breed in today’s automotive world, yet Mercedes is bringing back one of its most iconic creations: the roofless G-Class. The brand teased this revival with a mysterious Instagram post, showing the shadowy silhouette of the legendary off-roader.
But the big question remains: what engine will it get?
The teaser doesn’t reveal any details about timing or powertrains. With the Munich Motor Show 2025 just around the corner, an unveiling could happen soon, though the model hasn’t been officially listed as part of the event. Whether it will debut with an electric motor, a traditional combustion engine, or both, is still unknown.
Design-wise, the recipe stays classic: a fabric soft top covering the cabin, which can be completely removed to give the G-Class the look of an open-bed pickup. Of course, the iconic spare wheel mounted at the rear remains in place, as always.
And who knows perhaps for the very first time, Mercedes might bless the G-Class Cabriolet with a high-performance AMG version. Until now, the open-top G-Wagon has never received the Affalterbach treatment…
